Privacy Policy – RingPop

Introduction

RingPop (« we », « our », or « us ») is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application RingPop (the « App ») on iPhone and on Android.

The short version: We don’t collect your personal data. Your ringtones stay on your device.

Information We Do NOT Collect

RingPop is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Audio or video files you import
  • Ringtones you create
  • Usage analytics or behavior tracking
  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • Device identifiers for our own purposes

All your content stays on your device. We have no servers that store your data, and there is no account to create.

RingPop on iPhone

Permissions We Request

RingPop requests only two iOS permissions, both required for the app’s core function of creating ringtones from your media:

  • Photos access — to let you import videos and audio from your photo library to turn into a ringtone.
  • Add to Photos — to let you save exported ringtones back to your device when you choose to.

RingPop never requests access to your microphone, camera, contacts, or location.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

RingPop displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to keep the app free. On iPhone, RingPop only ever requests non-personalized ads — every ad request is explicitly flagged as non-personalized, so Google does not use your Advertising ID (IDFA) or any tracking-based profile to select ads for you. RingPop does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt because it never asks for tracking permission in the first place.

To serve and measure these non-personalized ads, Google AdMob may still collect limited technical data such as:

  • General location (country/region)
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • Ad request and frequency data (to avoid showing you the same ad too often)

This data is not linked to your identity for tracking purposes. You can remove ads entirely by purchasing RingPop Pro (one-time purchase).

Purchases (App Store)

When you make a purchase (RingPop Pro), the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

RingPop on Android

The Android version of RingPop follows the same principle: your videos, audio files and ringtones stay on your device and are never uploaded to us.

Permissions We Request

  • Modify system settings (WRITE_SETTINGS) — only to set a sound you chose as your ringtone, alarm or notification sound. Android asks you to grant it once; RingPop never changes a system sound without your action.
  • Internet and network state — to load ads and to talk to Google Play for the RingPop Pro purchase.

RingPop does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera or location. Videos are picked through the Android photo picker or the system file picker, which only give RingPop the file you select. Ringtones you set are saved in your device’s Ringtones, Alarms or Notifications folder so that Android can play them.

Advertising (Google AdMob) and Consent

RingPop shows ads served by Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, RingPop asks for your consent through Google’s consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) before any personalized advertising. You can accept, refuse, or manage your choices, and change them at any time from Settings › « Manage my ad choices » in the app. If you refuse, Google may still show limited, non-personalized ads.

RingPop does not access the Android advertising ID. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect limited data such as:

  • Approximate location (derived from your IP address)
  • Device information and identifiers such as the app set ID
  • Interactions with the ads you see
  • Diagnostics and crash data related to ads

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps. You can remove ads entirely by purchasing RingPop Pro.

Purchases (Google Play)

RingPop Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Data Storage and Deletion

All ringtones and app data are stored locally on your device in the app’s private storage. We cannot access this data. If you delete the app, all locally stored ringtones are permanently deleted. On Android, a sound you set as your ringtone, alarm or notification stays in the corresponding system folder until you delete it there, so your phone keeps ringing after the app is removed.

Data collected by Google for advertising is governed by Google’s policies. You can review and delete it at My Ad Center and in your Google Account settings.

Children’s Privacy

RingPop does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any account creation or personal information to function.

Your Rights

Since we don’t collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete from our systems. Your ringtones are stored only on your device and can be deleted at any time through the app or by uninstalling it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the « Last updated » date.
